The first soap I ever made… and still one of the most special.
Lather-Leigh has been part of Old City Apothecary from the very beginning.
Years ago, a mother reached out to me looking for a very simple handmade soap for her little girl, Charleigh. She sent me a long list of ingredients they needed to avoid and asked if I could create something just for her.
So I did.
It was the first bar of soap I’d ever formulated, and Charleigh was the inspiration behind the name Lather-Leigh. Her mom later told me it was the first soap they’d been able to use that made bath time something Charleigh could actually enjoy.
I’ve never forgotten that.
Lather-Leigh is still made with the same philosophy that started it all: keep things simple and make a beautiful bar without loading it with unnecessary ingredients. Lavender and chamomile give this handmade soap its botanical character, while the oils create a lovely, creamy lather.
It’s an old Old City recipe with an even older Old City story, and it’ll probably always have a soft spot in my heart.
Approximately 4 oz. Because every bar is handmade and hand-cut, weight and shape may vary slightly.
